Step 1 Greetings

Play the song:See You Again and greet to each other.

T: Enjoy the song! What’s the name of the song? See you again. Yes, and I’d like to say: Nice to see you again, boys and girls! Actually it’s been a long time without you. How long have I not seen you again? Here is a photo to tell the answer. This is my little baby. She wasn’t born when we were together, but now she’s 26 months old. So we haven’t seen each other for 26 months. I miss you a lot. How about you?

To attract students’ attention and get them ready for class. And also it’s a way to express the teacher’s special true feeling of seeing them again after two and a half years’ time.

Step 2 Word puzzle

1.Read the short passage and find the missing letters.

2.Find more words in the word puzzle.

T:Today I’m glad to give you a lesson again.It’s about words. Are you good at writing words? I hope you’ll gain something useful from this class. First let’s do a word puzzle. Look! Some letters are missing. Please read the short passage on your paper, and find the missing letters. Let’s check the answers. Can you find more words? Keys: book, to, danger, come, life, daily, vocabulary. Who has the largest vocabulary in our class?

To arouse the students’ learning interests by finishing a word puzzle, and it’s also a way to check how large vocabulary the students have.

Step 3 How to learn a word

1.Spelling, pronunciation, part of speech, Chinese meaning, the usage.

2.Have a match of different words with a same syllable.

T: Learning a word includes its pronunciation, spelling, part of speech and Chinese meaning. And also the use of a word. Let’s have a match between boys and girls.-ture for girls, and –ment for boys. See who can think of more words with the syllable.

To carry out a variety of learning activities to involve most students to participate and develop their ability of cooperative learning.

1.Tell the part of speech;

2.Decide the word form.

To focus on the strategies of words’ usage.

Step 5 Practice and consolidation

1.Exercise of vocabulary from the examination paper of Quzhou.2018.

2.The examined points of the notional words.
