Use an outline to write a topic composition

Teaching steps

StepⅠ Leading

Free talk : What do you usually do to relax yourself?

What words or phrases can you think of when you see the word“Internet”?

【六名学生到讲台前写下send , play games等单词】

Try to make sentences using the words or phrases,and change them into better ones.

【创设情境和设计问题,引导学生运用句型V+ing…It’s + adj + (for sb)+ to do sth造句子,为如何在作文中使用好句子埋下伏笔。】

Step ⅡPresentation

Show two compositions on the screen.

T: Look! Here are two compositions .Which one do you think better, Composition One or Composition Two?

Ss:

T: Why do you think so?

Ss:…

T: Composition Two has a beginning and an ending. It’s a complete composition.

For a complete composition, it has a beginning ,a body and an ending.

Show the outline to the students and let them know what is an outline, and what is a beginning, a body, and an ending.(The beginning tells us what you are going to write. The ending tells us your own opinion. The body tells us the main idea of the composition.)

Underline the linking words in the composition and let students know what is a linking word. And make students know they should use linking words correctly if necessary.

Ss:

T: While we are writing an outline, think about good sentences and words we can use。Try to use some linking words to make your outline more fluently .
