Master the structure and the meaning of the present perfect tense.

Difficult Points:

Can use the present perfect tense with verbs to describe events happen at a particular point in time and to describe events that can continue over a period of time.

Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Lead-in (3 minutes)

Greet students and have a free talk with students, ask them what do they usually do in their spare time, what film have they ever seen? students will give their answers, and then share the film I have ever seen .For example, “ I have ever seen the film.” write down the sentence on the blackboard, in this way can lead in the present perfect tense.

(Justification: students can know the meaning and structure of the present perfect tense .)

Step 2 Presentation (5 minutes)

Show some verbs. Help students to speak out their past forms and past participles.

Show more sentences to students. Help them to know when to use the present perfect tense.

Show some sentences. Help students know some adverbs are used in the present perfect tense. Make sure they know the difference between “already” and “yet”.

Write down more sentences about the simple past tense and the present perfect tense, and guide students find out the similarity and the difference about these sentences, and then conclude the meaning and the structure of the present perfect tense.

(Justification: students can know the meaning and structure of the present perfect tense .review the simple past tense can help students better understand the present perfect tense).

Step 3 Practice (30 minutes)

Activity 1: Look at the pictures and make sentences with the given words.

Activity 2: Fill in the blanks. Make sure students can compare the simple past tense with the present perfect tense.

Activity 3: Choose the best answer. Make sure they can use the phrase “have been to, have gone to ,have been in ”correctly.

Activity 4: Correct the mistakes. Help students know how to change non-durative verbs into durative verbs.

Step 4 Conclusion (3 minutes)
