1. Key points:
Words and phrases: bee, butterfly, mess, shame, several, see sb./sth. doing sth., cut down,
Sentences: What a shame! / What a mess!
The flowers and grass have gone!

There be sth./sb. doing sth.
There are several factories pouring waste water into the stream.
Everything has changed.
2. Difficult points:
正确使用there be sth./sb. doing sth.来表达“有某人/物正在做某事” 。
会正确使用短语see sb. / sth. doing sth.。
三、Teaching steps.
1. Step one: Getting students ready for learning.
Do you like traveling? Do you know there are many beautiful mountains and rivers in China. Then show a picture of West Hill and ask Is the West Hill beautiful?
2. Step two:
Show the old picture of the West Hill to the Students, and ask “What can you see in the picture?” . Then learn the new words: “butterfly” and “bee”
3. Step three:learn the new phrase : “see sb. doing sth.” then make sentence with it.
4. Step four: look at the picture of west Hill of now. learn sentence : The flowers and the grass have gone. Look, there are several chemical factories pouring water into the stream.
explain: have gone = have disappeared
There be( is, are) sb./ sth. doing 有什么人或物正在做某事
pour…into
then make some sentences with these phrases.
5. Step five: Learn 1a.
(1) Open the book and find out what has happened now.
(2) Read 1a together.
(3) Let the Ss read 1a aloud finish 1b and fill the blanks in 1c in groups.
6. Step six: Let the Ss observe the pictures and study the example in 2 and try to make new dialogs according to the pictures and the given words. Then act out the dialogs.
7. Step seven. Lead the Ss to look at the pictures and listen to the sentences once to number them. Then listen to them twice to complete the sentences.
