Step 1: Leading-in

T: Where have you been during your holidays?

Step2: Learn the new words

T:(Show some pictures ) Let me tell you something about myself, I have to been to Shanghai, I have been to Hangzhou, I have been to many places of interest . but I love Hangjinhouqi best, because it’s our hometown. Then show Yuan Zi River in our hometown, Introduce the changes about it. Learn the new words : bee, butterfly, mess, shame. Several, , pour, waste.

Step 3: 1a

T: Have you ever had a picnic?

S: Yes, I have.

T: Kangkang , Jane , Maria and Michael are planning a picnic for Sunday. They will go to the West Hill. Listen and answer: (The first listening)

Was the West Hill beautiful two years ago?

1b.(The second listening)After the students answer the two simple questions. Listen to 1a and mark the words with P(Past) or N(Now)

1c. Read 1a and complete the sentences in the table.

Step 4: Give the students three minutes . Check the preview parts in the learning project. And find out the important phrases in 1a and underline them in the books.
