Knowledge aims:
By the end of the class students will be able to
grasp following words:
Tiny, electic, light, candle, postman, heat, full-time, education, role, transport, in the summer heat, in the winter cold
Grasp following sentences
She has lived in Beijing all her life.
She has a good education, and she goes to work even after getting married.
Ability aims: students will be able to use the comparative and superlative forms in their daily life.
Moral aims: students have a better understanding of the life now and cherish the life today.

The usages of following words and phrases: tiny, electric, candle, light, be busy doing sth, in the summer heat, in the winter cold,etc.
Teaching procedures
Step1: Warming up
Get students to look at the photos in Activity 1 and talk about the changes from following aspects: family, work, health, education.
(Purpose:through talking about the picture students have a good review of comparative and superlative forms).
Step2: Pre- reading
Let students read the passage and take notes on what Mrs Li says about the points in Activity 1
(Purpose:the aim is to arouse students’ interest in the passage)
Step3: While- reading
Sanning and skimming
Get students read the passage quickly and answer the questions.
How many people were there in Mrs Li’s family in the past?
Did Mrs Li go to school?
How did Mrs Li go everywhere in the past?
(Purpose: the aim is to get the main idea of the passage and train students the skills of summarizing)
