Step 1. the key elements of a good passage
Show students the criteria of High School Entrance Examination and ask students to find the key elements of a good passage.
Then the teacher collect the answers and conclude what makes a good passage:
一点：有亮点，有独到之处
二整：书写工整，卷面整洁
三要：词数要达标，词汇和语法、结构要准确，上下文要连贯。
四不行：写错体裁不行；用错人称不行；用错时态不行；漏掉内容不行。
Step 2. Steps to write a passage
Ask students how many steps they take to write a passage and then collect the answers
Show students the six steps to take to write a good passage:
1). 审题：定体裁（信、邮件、征文）、人称、时态，找要点 (the first step is most easily overlooked by students but the most important one)
2). 列提纲，定结构（总-分-总）
3). 写句子
4). 加连接词，过渡句，成篇章
5). 注意卷面 （推荐用辉体字，注意字大小、间距、标点、大小写）
6). 检查（人称一致、时态一致、词汇用法，拼写、标点和大小写）
Step 3. ways to write a good body
Among the six steps，the most difficult one is to write the sentences and make them a coherent passage. So how to write the paragraphs?
A passage is usually made up with three big parts and three or four or even five paragraphs.
