Teaching procedures:

Step 1:lead-in

Read the following sentences:

Ask the students to summarize :the main topic :subject-verb agreement

Step2 Subject-Verb Agreement

The teacher explain the Subject-Verb Agreement and give the example for each item .

主谓一致是指谓语在人称、数及意义方面要与作主语的名词或代词保持一致。

主谓一致主要有以下几种情况:

语法一致(grammatical concord)

主语和谓语要保持一致。

意义一致(notional concord)

所谓意义一致原则是指谓语动词和主语一致不是取决于主语的语法形式, 而是其实际意义。

就近原则(principle of proximity)和就远原则(重难点)

1.谓语动词要和就近的主语保持一致。

Ask the students to summarize the rules:哪些是单词和短语或者句式是用就近原则,哪些单词短语或者句式是用就远原则。(反复几次总结)

Step3 Practice(就近原则和就远原则混在一起练习)

Task2 Choose the correct item.

Then check the answers together

Step4 And在主谓一致上的用法

Step5.some (of), plenty of, a lot of ,most (of), the rest of ,all (of), half (of), part (of), 分数或百分数+of +名词等短语作主语时,谓语动词与of 后的名词或代词 保持数的一致
