Teaching key and difficult points:
Students know the names of the six classics and they can express their ideas about the classics.

Teaching steps:
Step 1 Lead-in
Ask students about the following questions: 1. Have you watched these TV plays or movies? 2. Which book are they about? And show some pictures of four classics of China to help students answer the questions.
Step 2 Presentation
Show the pictures of the six foreign books and ask students “Have they heard of these books?”to introduce the main topic of the class.
Show the pictures of the six foreign books one by one to guide students to speak out the names of these books.
Finish 1a.
Show students the brief introduction of the six books in English and Chinese to help students to know more about the books.
Step 3 Practice
Matching game: ask students try to match the book titles with the pictures and guide them to read the names of these books.
Guessing game: show the pictures of the six books and ask students to speak out the English names.
Finish the listening task 1b: ask students to write down the names of the books they are talking about for the first time, then the second time to fill in the rest, and after that ask students to discuss their answers in pair, and finally check the answers.
Step 4 Listen and read
Ask students to watch the video of the listening part twice and invite some of them to make a role-play.
Step 5 Pair work
Talk about the books they have read.
A: Have you read Little Women yet?
B: No, I haven’t. Have you?
A: Yes, I’ve already read it.
B: What’s it like?
A: It’s fantastic.
Step 6 Summary
