Realize the importance of English in our daily life and improve the enthusiasm of learning English.
Key point:
Students can make some sentences which use wh-/how+to do.
Difficult point:
Students can understand the dialogue and give some advice on learning English.
Teaching process:
Lead-in (Three minutes)
Students should talk about when and where they may see or use English in their daily life. Three or four students should share their ideas with the whole class. The teacher can talk about this question together with the students.
Step1:(Five minutes)
Learn the new words and make some new sentences with the sentence structures.
New words: aloud; object; textbook; ability; take a deep breath
Sentence structures:
I don’t know how /what to……
Can you tell me how/what to……
The teacher should write the new words on the blackboard and let students read these new words together.
Students should make some new sentences with the two sentence structures
Step2:( Seven minutes)
Look at the pictures and let students think about two questions
What’s his/her difficulty in learning English ?
Can you give them some advice on how to learn English well ?
The teacher should summarize the advice which students have given.
Step3: (Three minutes)
Show the conversation to students. Two groups should read the dialogue aloud in the class.
The teacher should pay attention students’ pronunciation and intonation.
Step4 (Four minutes)
Present four questions for students. Then they can read the dialogue again and find out the answers of these questions. Some students should share their answers.
