Warming up
Say hello to the students. Ask the students about their Mid-autumn day and talk about moon cake with them. Ask them: “Do you like moon cakes? Are moon cakes your favorite food? What is your favorite food? ”.
Presentation
(1) Learn the words of food name: milk, hamburger, hot dog, noodles, soup, fruit, vegetable, chicken, dumpling. Teach the students to read them for several times.
(2) Play a game to practice how to read the above words.
Divide the students into two groups: boy group and girl group. When I raise my left hand, boys read after me; when I raise my right hand, girls read after me; when I raise my both hands, all of students read after me; when I close my hands into fists, no students read after me. Play the game and find out who will make mistakes.
(1) Listen to the tape to look at what is Jenny’s and Danny’s favorite food so as to familiarize?the students with the useful expressions. Pick up and write the useful expressions on the blackboard.
(2) Teach the students how to use the useful expressions.
Practice
According to the food pyramid on page 55, work in pairs and talk about your favorite food with your partner. Choose some pairs to show their dialogue in front of class.
(1) Together with the students to study the food pyramid. Make the students to understand that: according to the food pyramid, we should eat food while obeying the rules like this: the lower the more, the upper the less.
(2) Make the students can distinguish healthy food and junk food. Realize that healthy food is good for our body. Junk food is bad for our body. So we should eat more healthy food, less junk food.
Homework
Finish the blanks on page 55. Make menus for your breakfast, lunch and dinner.
