A song: What are you doing? (Watch a video)

Step Two: Presentation and practice

A. T: I’ll show you some words, when you see them ,please say the words and do the actions.

( ppt出示各种动词,如dance,run,walk等。学生看单词,说单词,做动作。)

B. T: This time let’s play a game “What is he/she doing?”

(找1-2名同学,让其看动词短语卡片,然后做相应动作,教师提问“What’s he/she doing?”,其他生回答“He/She is _____ing.”)

出示play cards 词卡,找三生一起做动作,

T:What are they doing?

S:They are playing cards.

板书What are they doing? They are playing cards.领读,接龙读练习本句。

Look at some other pictures. Where are they? Can you guess?

Now look and listen! They are on the train.

T: What are they doing now?

A. Listen to the tape and look at your books.

B. Ask some questions about the pictures. Then answer them.

C. Role-play in groups.

D. Can you find the word “newspaper”? Its stress is on the first syllable. Please look at other words. Read after the audio.

E. Can you find the word “behind”? Its stress is on the second syllable. Please look at the other words. Read after the audio.

Step Three:

Consolidation and Extension

1.Now let’s make a turntable with the words. (5 minutes)

Use guessing game to practice the present participle.

A. You say start. I will start. You say stop. I will stop. Can you say the sentences?

B. Who can help me to start the turntable?

Which sentence do your group want to choose? Please write it down on your paper. Then read it together with your group members.

2.look at this picture.What are they doing ?Make a new dialogue with your group members. Then show it to us.

Step four:Summing Up and Homework

Sing a song to end the class: What are you doing?

Homework: Write down your dialogue.
