b: The present participle
Show some verbs, and ask the students that how to add “ing” after these words. There are three rules. What are they? Can you find out?
Ask the students to find out the rules.
A. 1+1=2 , such as “play+ ing = playing”.
B. Delete the silent “e”, then add “ing”: having, dancing...
C. Double the last letter: swimming, running...
适时出示动词ing变化规律
(1)一般情况下直接+ing;
如:cry-crying walk-walking
(2)以辅音字母+e结尾的单词,去e+ing;
如:make-making, dance-dancing
(3)以辅音+元音+辅音字母结尾的单词,双写最后一 个字母+ing;
如:run-running swim-swimming
(4)其他:特殊情况特殊记。
