Step 1: Give students several minutes to read Topic 1.
Step 2: Ask students to talk about some pictures with “be made of ” and “be made from” . But give them an example first. Will choose four groups of students. After that , summrize the differences between “be made of ” and “be made from”.
Step 3: Play a guessing game together.
Some students describe some objects according to the pictures, one student guess what it is .
Step 4: Show more pictures . Ask students to ask and answer in pairs to give some information about them. For example , “It was invented by …….” “It was invented in……” Then summrize some important language points.
Step 5: Ask students to answer some questions about invention base on the passage 1a on Page85. At the same time , ask them to translate the sentences.
Step 6: Complete a passage about GPS. Teacher will play the recording , students listen and fill in the blanks, then check the answers.
Step 7: Ask students to write a passage.
