●Greet with students with Good morning, students. How are you? Let’s listen to a song and do the actions together. What are you doing? I’m watching TV. I’m watching TV. What are you doing?I’m cooking, cooking, cooking, cooking. What are you doing? I’m eating,eating En, Yummy! What are you doing? I’m washing my hands.

(purpose: It’s to make students be relaxed and active in this class.)

●Today, we will learn a new lesson. Leson8. Last class, we know Li Ming, Mrs. Li, Danny and Jenny arrive in Beijing. Boys and girls, what do you know about Beijing? Can you say some famous places? Please hands up. Then teacher present the picture: Tian’anmen Square, the Great Wall, the Palace Museum, Wangfujing Street, and let students read it together. OK, boys and girls, where do Danny and Jenny go today? Can you guess? Students: Tiananmen Square.

(purpose: It’s to make students come to this class with mind and heart.)

Step 2. Presentation

●Teacher gives students 3 minutes to read it by themselves and plays a tape about this lesson and answer the questions.

(purpose: It’s to check students the effect of previewing.)

●Talk about the passage in the book

Let the students read after me “square” together and in each line. Then let the students look the picture and read after me “Tian’anmen Square is very good.” In the same way to present “ There are many people here!”. Then let the students look at another picture and ask them what are they doing. Students answer “ they are taking pictures”. Then teacher write “take a picture” and “take pictures” on the blackboard, and let students read them and understand them. Then let students read after me “Some people are taking pictures on the square.”Then show another picture and let one student who volunteer read the sentence “ there are many children. They are playing.” Then show one picture and ask “what are they doing?” Students answer “they are flying kites”. Then teacher writes “fly a kite” and “fly kites” on the blackboard, and let students read them and understand them. Then show the pictures , read and understand “Let’s fly a kite! This is easy. Oh, no! This is difficult!” and guide the students to notice the pronunciation “say” and “says” and to understand “easy” and “difficult” . Then, show pictures about Danny and Jenny and Let students read after me “ Poor Danny! Are you okay? No! I hurt my arm! Don’t worry. I can help you. Thanks” Let students notice “hurt, worry”

(purpose: It’s to make students read the new words correctly and understand the passage.)

●Do a role play to consolidate what students have learned. One student is Danny, and your desk mate is Jenny. Now I give you 3 minutes to prepare it. Two groups come here to show it.

(purpose: It’s to make students be active and love to learn English.)

●Give a short summary about the story. Jenny can fly her kite very high. Danny can’t fly a kite. He hurts his arm. He is sad. Teacher read it emotionally.

(purpose: It’s to make students understand the passage better.)

Step3. Doing games to practice the words and sentences

Teacher divides the whole class into two groups,Group1 and Group2. Students who answer the question quickly and correctly can get points for their group.

●A game about words: Use the letters to make the words

Show the pictures about letters, and then let students reflect the right word quickly. The students who reflect correctly and quickly can get points.

(Purpose: It’s to make students interested in learning English, cultivate the spirit of cooperation and master the new words.)

●A game about the sentences. Teacher has many cards. The student who gets the card need do the action following the card, and another student should look at him and make a conversation with his desk mate. The student who does the action can get one point, and the students who make conversation correctly can get one point.

(Purpose: It’s to make students interested in learning English, cultivate the spirit of cooperation and master the sentences.)
