Today I want to introduce one of my friend to you. And I think you know about him.Look!(show them the picture of little Zeke) Do you know his name? He has a good friend. It’s a girl. Do you remember her? (Emma)

Read and find
Let the students read the whole story by themselves with the question: What are the main characters in the story?

The teacher shows the students the pictures of the main characters one by one.
(3)The title is “A Gift for Little Zeke”, so “Who gives a gift to little Zeke? ”and “What gift does little Zeke get?” Let the students listen to the radio to answer the questions.(purpose: get familiar to the text )

(1) Read and answer
Let the students read scene 1-2 and then answer the questions: Where does little Zeke live? And where does little Zeke sleep?( This part is easy, so the teacher can let the students just read the story, and then answer relative questions)
(2) Show the students the mind map of this part on the blackboard.
(3)Listen and read
Let the class listen to the radio and read after it.
Scene3-5
(1)Read and answer
Part two of the story needs to solve another question: What are Mrs. Jones gifts? Let them read this part silently and finish the mind map.
(2)Practice with the sentence structure and make a dialogue with the sentences of this unit.

(1) Free talk
Look at the mind map, did little Zeke get a gift? Why does Mrs. Jones didn’t give a gift to little Zeke? Now read sence6 and answer the questions.
(2)Read and answer
We know that little Zeke write a letter to Mrs. Jones. And what does little Zeke write to Mrs. Jones? And how does little Zeke feel?
