Show a picture on the screen

T: Who are they?

S: Danny, Li Ming and Santa.

T: Where are they?

S: In a shop.

T: At Christmas, shops often have Santa.

T: What are Danny and Li Ming doing?

S: They are shopping./They are buying gifts.

T: Danny and Li Ming are shopping for Christmas gifts in a shop.PPT呈现这一重点句,师生、生生问答操练。

【设计意图】围绕书上的一幅图片展开讨论,学生通过回答老师提出的三个问题,初步了解本课故事,并对西方过圣诞节期间,商店有圣诞老人这一文化习俗感兴趣。
