Learn to express preferences and hobbies with the sentence pattern

“would rather…than…”. (学习用would rather…than…句型表达偏爱和喜好。)

3. Emotional aim(情感目标):

Should be aware of (知道) that proper entertainment(适度娱乐) is acceptable, but do not play too much. Watching too much TV is bad for health, study, communication with families and so on.

4. The key and difficult points(重点和难点):

Key points: actress, would rather…than…用法, prefer用法, “疑问词+动词不定式”构成的特殊不定式用法。

Difficult point:学习用prefer和 would rather…than…句型表达偏爱和喜好,并理解掌握prefer A (to B), prefer doing A (to doing B), prefer to do A (rather than do B). 会使用“疑问词+动词不定式”构成的特殊不定式。

Teaching Procedures :

Step 1 Leading-in:

1. Show the learning aims.

2. Ask and answer, according to whether students like watching TV in daily lives.

T: Do you like watching TV in your spare time?

Ss: ......

3. Watch the video and lead students to get to know new words and important sentence patterns.

Step 2 Learning new words and important sentence patterns:

1. Introduce some kinds of TV programs. Students look at the screen and learn them. Such as Sports shows, news report, cartoons and so on. Then play a game to check students’ learning-situation.

2. With the help of new words and pictures, lead students to learn important sentence patterns, would rather... than ... and prefer. Through group work to improve the students’critical thinking and cooperative ability. Then let students practice them through exercise and the dialogue in 2a.

Step 3 Learning 1a:

Let students guess the main idea of 1a based on the picture and table.

Listen to 1a and fill in the table.

Read 1a and fill in the blanks.

With the help of pictures and descriptions, I lead students to understand and learn important knowledge. Students’doing exercise follows the knowledge’s learning closely.

Listen, look and say. Let students imitate the expressions, actions and tone by watching the video. Then let some groups to show their dialogue, and give them proper appraise.

Step 4 Summary :

Sum up the language points in this section.

Step 5 Exercise :

Do the final exercise.

Step 6 Sublimate students’emotion and assign the homework:

1. To help students write the composition well later, let students work in group to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of watching TV first.

2. Let some students to share their appointments with the class. Through this process, sublimate students’emotion and let them know watching too much TV is bad for them.
