●Ss can understand a discussion and the topic about graduation by listening.

●Ss can express their own feelings about graduation freely and prepare a brief speech about graduation by speaking.

●Ss can guess the meaning of the new words, phrases of the English sayings according to the context by reading.

3. Emotional objectives:

●Ss can cooperate with classmates and take an active part in the activities.

●Ss can treasure their friendship forever.

●Ss can study hard to realize their dreams.

II. Teaching procedures:

Step 1. Pre-listening (听前准备)

1. Greet ss as usual and watch a graduation video see you again. When watching, think about the questions:

Which school is mentioned? What is the video about? What will happen to the students?

2. Then show some pictures of our school and lead Ss to say “We will graduate from Beigang Junior High School.”

3. Invite some students to talk about their feelings about the graduation and their plans before graduation. The teacher will ask:

Now that the graduation day is coming. How do you feel about it?

By the way, what are you planning to do before graduation?

Then ask Ss to list the six things they may plan to do.

Purpose: In this step, the teacher uses videos and pictures to arouse Ss’ interest in the new lesson and lead in to the related part in 1a.

Step 2. While-listening (听中练习)

Ss will be busying making plans for the graduation. So will Kangkang and his friends, because there is going to be a graduation ceremony in their school.

1. Listen to 1a and answer the question:

What will they do to get ready for the graduation ceremony?

They will prepare some gifts.

2. Listen again and finish 1b. Ask some students to write the answers down on

the backboard.

② They are talking about what they have to do.

③ They certainly have to ________ the final examination.

④ They probably have to give _________ at the graduation ceremony.
