The difficult points are to act out the dialogue and to describe friends by using the key sentence.

Teaching procedures:
Step1: Warm-up
Greet the Ss as usual in order to provide an English learning atmosphere.
Let the Ss chant Tim and Lily so that they can review the words about friends and make a free talk.
Step2: Presentation
Show pictures of Chen Jie and John and let the Ss guess what happened to them.
Listen to the radio, let the Ss read the dialogue together and invite the Ss in different groups to read it.
Step3: Practice
Listen to the multi-media again, the Ss think about the questions and find the important information in the dialogue.
Pair-work: the Ss have a role play and act out the dialogue.
Listen to the radio, do the exercises on page 33 and then check the answers.
Step4: Production
Group work: Look and find
Tell the Ss 4 people in a group.
Describe the friends in PPT by using the key words and sentence: I have a good friend. He is quiet. He is tall. He has glasses. Who is he? He is Fred……
Encourage the Ss to show it to the class.
Step5: Homework:
Read the dialogue on page 32.
Describe your friends to your parents, and let them guess.
