Step 1 Warm-up / Revision
Sing a song “what’s in the classroom?”
Have a free talk
T: You look so happy today. Because we have a new classroom .What’s in the new classroom?
S1: A blackboard, a teacher’s desk, many desks and chairs.
S2:Lights, walls ,doors and blue floors.
Step 2 Presentation
I show a picture of beautiful house and say: “I am so happy today.Why? Because I am going to move to a new house .This is my new home.” Lead in the topic of unit4.
Then ,take the students to visit my home. “Do you want to visit my home? Let’s go!”
I show the pictures on PPT. And ask the students to guess:How many rooms in my home ?After that ,I point to a living room and ask “ what can you see in the living room?” “what can you do in the living room?”teach the word “living room”.Guide the students to answer “ I can see in the living room. I can watch TV in the living room.”
Show a picture of bedroom. Ask the students “What’s in it ?”,the students answer “Bed”.
“Yes, there is a bed in it .We sleep in a bedroom. Help the students understand “This is a bedroom.” with gestures. Go to the bedroom, have a nap.
Show a picture of bathroom teach the word “bathroom”. Ask students “Who is in the bathroom?” “ Maomao is in the bathroom.” So, go the bathroom, take a shower.
Show a picture of study and say “There are so many books in the room.It’s a study.
Go to the study, read a book.
“Read a book. Look !It’s a photo album. Grandpa’s old pictures Let’s read it.” I show pictures of rooms and ask the students to say the words.At last, I show an old picture of kitchen.Teach the word “kitchen”.Go to the kitchen, have a snack.
