Teaching steps:

Step1:Warming up/Revision

Sing the song“I love my family”together.

Daily greetings to all the class.

Free- talk

T:I have a big and happy family .Now you have three chances to ask questions about my family.

(Teacher answers students’ questions and leads in the topic.)

Step2:Presentation

PPT to display the picture of Zip and plays the sound of “Hi, welcome to my home”.

T:So today we’ll meet Zip’s family.

Play the video of the whole story and ask students to find “Who are mentioned in Zip’s family?”

Check the answers and put up the photos on the blackboard.(Teach the word“photo”then lead in the phrases“these photos””photo wall”)

Enjoy the photo wall with the music.

T:Now let’s see the photo wall of Zip’s family.(PPT to display the first picture of the dialogue and then ask students to imitate the dialogue.)

Guide students to browse the photos of father,grandpa, uncle and practice to ask and guess their jobs. Then listen and try to read it following the tape.

Teach the new phrases of “taxi driver” and “baseball player” .(Use the picture to extend the more phrases“car driver”“bus driver”“basketball player”“volleyball player”.)

Ask students to read the whole story following the tape.(Teacher gives the reading tips to help students read better.)

Group work to role-play the story and ask two pairs to act it out.

Put on the headwear of Zip ,then look at the blackboard and retell Zip’s family.

Step3.Practice

Enjoy the short video about Michael’s family photo .

Make photo wall and then try to describe it with the model A or model B.

Ask students to use the pad to take photos of the family wall, then pick up some and let students to introduce the family .

Step4.Homework

Read the story.

Design your photo wall and then describe it.
