Step Ⅲ Presentation and Practice

1.Teacher shows some pictures .Students speak out the words by guessing: dinner tiger sister water computer .

[Purpose: Guide students to speak out the words .Guessing game can attract their attention and inspire them to speak out the key words.]

2.Students observe and read the words:dinner tiger sister water computer . Then students discuss and summarize the pronunciation rule -- er /?/.

[Purpose: Guide students to summarize the pronunciation rule by themselves. Students can learn English by their experience and observation.]

Brainstorming

Students recall and say more words ending with”er’.

[Purpose: Guide students to review the words they have learned and meanwhile set up a link between the knowledge they have learned and the knowledge they will learn.]

Students use the pronunciation rule and read the following words:
