Task-based approach.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1: lead-in
Ask Ss “What is task-based reading?” and show Ss a picture of puzzle to lead in the topic.
Step 2: Skills learning
1. Ask Ss to do some exercises of task-based reading.
2. Pair work: ask Ss to discuss skills in pairs and share their ideas.
3. Analyze some typical types of skills.
Step 3: Skills Consolidation
Group work: “who is best designer?” Have Ss work in groups to design five questions according to the skills learned.
Present the original question designs of these five questions..
Step 4: Writing level improving
Present the original passage finished just now and ask Ss how many points can be given if it is a writing.
Show Ss some pictures of bad writings and ask how to improve writing levels
Step 4: Activity
1. Divide Ss into three levels according to their score in the last month-test.
2. Group work: have different levels of students finish different tasks in groups.
3. Present their work.
Step 5: Summary
Summarize the tips on how to deal with filling after reading and emphasis on the application of coherence in writings.
