Present some “there be “sentences and help students work out rules.
Task 1: Look and say
e.g. 1. There is a pear on the table.
2. There is some milk in the glass.
3. There are some potatoes in the fridge.
4. There are some drinks in my bag.
5. There is a chair in the room.
6. There are a lot of students in the playground.
Tips:there is + 可数名词单数或不可数名词
there are + 可数名词复数
e.g. There is an eraser and two pencils in the box.
There are two pencils and an eraser in the box.
Tips:当there be 后面有两个或两个以上的名词时,动词be要与它最近的名词保持一致(即:就近原则)。
(意图:教师通过例句呈现,补充就近原则,让基础好的学生进行提高,然后再通过小组合作互助达到基本上能人人会运用。)

There be 结构的否定句是在be后面加not,即:There isn’t / aren’t
There be 的疑问句是把is,are置于句首放在there之前,同时须把句中的some改为any。

(意图:通过“句型转换”帮助学生总结there be的否定句,疑问句形式,并区分there be & have/ has的区别)
