Setp 1 Free talk &Warm up

Sing a song My Small Cat

Let’s talk.

How tall are you? I’m…cm tall. I’m taller/shorter than you.

How heavy are you? I’m …kg. I’m heavier/thinner than you.

……

Show some pictures and let’s say.

Step 2 Pre-reading

Play a video about football game, and have the students know something about the football games. For example: football player, goal, goalkeeper, catch the ball.

Make the students know the meanings of “Football needs teamwork.”

Step 3 While-reading

Listen and answer.

Talk about picture 1. Try to guess who Zoom and Zip wants.

There is a football club in the forest. Who do they want? A football player or a goalkeeper?

(2)Listen to the dialog of picture 1 and answer: Do they all want to be the goalkeeper? How do you know?

2. Look and guess.

Have the students try to guess: who will be the goalkeeper? Why?

Watch and answer.

Have the students watch the video of the whole story and answer: Who will be the goalkeeper at last? Why?

Make the students know the meanings of “almost bigger than the goal” according to show them a picture.

Look and guess.

Show picture2- picture 4, ask the students to look at pictures and try to tell the reasons: why can’t they be the goalkeeper?

Read and find out.

Have the students read about picture 2&picture 3 and find the reason: why can’t Mr. Deer and Mr. Zebra be the goalkeeper?

Have the students read about picture 4 and find the reason: why can’t Mr. Giraffe be the goalkeeper?

Look and think.
