Step 3 Listening

Listen to the conversation between Simon and shopkeeper.Before listening ,give students some questions:1)What would Simon like to buy?2). What’s Simon’s size?3). How much do the shoes cost?4). Do they buy this pair of shoes? Why or why not? Ask students to answer these questions after listening.

Read the conversation in role and underline important phrases.

Step 4. Activity( Pair work)

1.Work in pairs,one student plays the role of Simon,the other plays the role of the shpkeeper,use the chart on P88,make up a new conversation.Here is the model:

Teacher: Simon and his friends are talking about how they use their pocket money.Listen to the tape,and find out What do Simon and her friends buy with their pocket money.

Check the anwers together.

Step 6. Practice

Free talk. Ask students to work in pairs,discuss how they use their pocket money.

1).Do you have any pocket money?

2).Where do you do get your pocket money?

3).What do you often buy with pocket money?

4).Do you spend your pocket money buying presents for your friends, your parents or your grandparents?

5).Do you use your money to help poor people?

2. Ask several pairs to share their ideas.

Step 7 Listening

Watch a video of children in poor areas and ask students whether it is important to help them.
