Let’s watch! Watch a video and listen carefully. Then answer two questions:

1. Who will come soon?

2. How many people are there?

Mainline: Who is the best receiver?To use the video to stimulate students’ learning interest and make it the mainline throughout the text Step 3

Before-reading:

1. Let’s learn the words of body parts.

(1) Do the actions and say out the words.

For example: This is my ...

(2) Play a game: Say out the missing body parts.

2. Let’s learn the phrase of body language.

(1) Listen to the tape. Try to write down the phrase of body language. Then work in group s to share.

(2) Look at the pictures and record the new phrases. Then let’s check the correct answers and pronunciation.1. To get the words of body parts ready by doing and saying and to check by playing a missing game to strengthen memory

2.To get the phrases of body language ready by listening and working in groups and check by recording the phrases with the help of some pictures

Step 4

While-reading:

1. Fast reading: Read through the passage and find out the main idea of each paragraph.

2. Careful-reading: Read carefully and finish the table. Then work in groups to discuss.

To generally and specifically know about the passage by doing fast-reading and careful-reading with the help of reading strategies, like scanning and skipping, and thus to improve students’ reading comprehension Step 5

After-reading:

1. Read by yourself and try to retell the passage with the picture

2. Play roles to welcome our new friends . Then choose the best receiver.

1. To check if students can have a better understanding of the passage by organizing sentences and retelling with the key words and pictures

2. To check and to echo the mainline (Who is the best receiver?) by playing roles (5 foreign friends and 5 receivers) in authentic context and improve their cooperation awareness Step 6
