StepI. Revision
Help students revise the open syllable and how the vowel letters pronounce in open syllables.
StepII. Presentation
Let students watch a video, then write down four words that appear in the video.
Help students learn the five vowels one by one: [ ? ] [ e ] [ ? ] [ ? ] [ ? ].
StepIII. Practice and summary
Let students finish Part A.
Ask students to answer them one by one.
2. Help them understand the closed syllable and how the vowel letters pronounce in closed syllables.
3. Let students do an exercise: pick the stars.
4. Guide students to summarize the rules and teach them the song.
StepIV. Practice and activities
Let students read Part C and pay attention to the different sounds of vowels.
Guide students to play games.
Game I: Give them two words at a time, if they have the same sound, stand up and say “bingo”, if they have different sounds, sit down and keep quiet.
Game II: Give each student a vowel card. Then give them a word at a time, the students who have the same vowel as the word stand up and read the vowel together.
3. Let students do an exercise: choose the word with a different vowel.
Step V. Homework
1. Practise the phonetic symbols we have learned today.
2. Find more songs or chants on the Internet to practice vowels we’ve learned.
