Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Lead-in

Clear the task for today’s class: introducing your own school using personal pronouns.

Compare different ways of writing sentences and experience advantages of using personal pronouns by talking about Millie’s school life.

Step 2 Input

Read a letter of Millie’s, circle all personal pronouns and try to put them into a table and find out two special ones.

Conclude the usage of subject pronouns by watching sentences from Millie’s letter.

Practice the usage of subject pronouns: exercise A: My best friend (page 1).

Conclude the usage of object pronouns by watching sentences from Millie’s letter.

Practice the usage of object pronouns: exercise B: On the phone (page 2).

Practice the usage of both subject and object pronouns: exercise C: replace the excessive nouns with suitable personal pronouns according to the context (page 4).

Step 3 Output

Watch a short video of the introduction of my school.

Describe the picture using suitable personal pronouns.

Group work: introduce your own school using personal pronouns.

Step 4 Summary

Self-revision: what do you learn from today’s class?

Homework:

Write a short paragraph of your school life using at least 6 pronouns.
