This lesson plays an important part in the English teaching in this unit. If the Ss can learn it well, it will be helpful for Ss to use Noun+’s to make sentences.

Step 1 self-study

二、Ask students to look at the pictures to say some relative sentences one by one.

Step 2 Presentation and cmmunicate

1. The meaning of Noun + ’s.

T: In English, we use Noun + ’s to express the idea of belonging.

please help me complete some sentences.

2. Work out the rule.

T: Look at the words in red. Can you tell me how to add ’s correctly? Have a discussion with your partner.

(1) Add ’s to a singular noun.

(2) Add ’ to a plural noun ending in –s.

(3) Add ’s to plural nouns that do not end in –s, such as children’s, people’s, men’s, women’s.

(4) We use ’s with names. When a name ends in –s, we can add ’s or ’.

Ask students to recite the rules in class and have a check with their partners.
