Do you like reading tales?

Which is your favorite character, Dorothy, Scarecrow or Tin Woodman?

Do you want to have the journey with them?

Step 2 A quick check of how much the Students know the chapter. Four questions.

Where does Dorothy live ?

What happened to Dorothy one day?

Is the scarecrow foolish ?

Step 3 Let’s do mind mapping (group work)

Make a mind map of chapter 2 together.

Divide the students into 6 groups. Give them some clues.

Step 4 Tips for reading a novel

When you read a novel, you often read quickly to get the general idea. You do not need to understand each word.

Step 5 Have a discussion

Let the Students think for 1 minute and then let them volunteer to answer.

Questions: Why do you think Scarecrow needs some brains?

Why do you think Tin Woodman needs a heart?

Show Students movie scripts related to this topic and make a summary.

Step 6 Brain storming

Why the writer chooses these two characters?

Why Scarecrow, wishing for brains?

Why Tin woodman wishing for a heart?

Are here any cultural similarities?

Step 7 Have a debate

Having brains is more important than having a heart vs. Having a heart is more important than having brains

Show the ideas of Scarecrow and Tin woodman on the screen, name two students to read the ideas.

Separate the Students into two groups.

Talk and discuss and write and Stick the ideas on the blackboard.

Share and debate.

Step 8 Act out

Before acting, show the movie script related to set an example.
