Teaching procedures:
Step 1.Pre-reading (Lead-in)
The teacher introduces himself and then tell Ss about his own students by showing some pictures which describe their school life. Then teach the new words.
Step 2 .Reading
1.Skimming
Ask Ss to do a fast reading and match the main idea of each paragraph. Ask them to pay attention to the key words of each paragraph.
2.Task 1 Ask and Answer
Ask Ss to read paragraph 1 carefully and then find the answers to the questions.
3. Task 2 Choose the right answers
Ask Ss to read paragraph 2 and then find the answers to the questions.
4.Task 3 Make a conversation
Show a conversation on the screen, ask Ss to read paragraph 3 and then do the
conversation with their partners. Finally ,ask pairs to check the answers.
5.Task 4 T or F
Ask Ss to read paragraph 4, then judge T or F , if it is F, ask them to correct it.
6.Task 5 Learn to make a conclusion
Show the pictures and activities in Para 3 and 5 , then ask Ss to conclude Millie’s feeling about school.
Step 3. After reading ( Game time )
Ask Ss to read the passage again , then ask them to complete Millie’s school life.
Step 4. Practice
Give some sample sentences about different parts of school life on the screen.
Then ask Ss to have a free talk. Finally, ask several students to talk about their school life.
Step 5 .Summary
Today we have learnt about Millie’s school life ,we also learned to talk about
our own school life. From these , I found that you love your school ,so remember, “Love our school, Love our life”
