Teaching process:
Step I. Lead—in:
1. Show some pictures of famous cartoons and review the process of making a cartoon.
2. According to Ss’ answers, lead in the passive voice with modal verbs.
Step II. Presentation:
1. Read the sentences and work out the rule.
2. Change the sentences into the passive voice.
3. Retell the process of making a cartoon in the passive voice with modal verbs.
4. Ss discuss in groups and summarize the structure of the passive voice with modal verbs.
5. Do more exercises and check the answers.
Step III. Writing:
