Step 1. Lead-in

Enjoy a set of pictures going, with music playing.

Step 2. Pre-reading

Learning new words and phrases —morning exercises, practice, chat, each other,etc.

Step3. While-reading

skimming --- catch the main idea of this e-mail

Answer a question through reading in silence.

2. scanning ----to figure out the specific information you need

true or false exercises

Figure out the main idea of each paragraph.

B. Each group of students read in turn para. by para.

Paragraph 1 ---- two questions

Paragraph 2 --- retell the paragraph

Paragraph 3 --- a question to test students’ imagination

Paragraph 4-5--- a game called “stop”

C: Read with the flash playing. Try to imitate the reading.

Step4. After- reading

Two challenges:

Pair-work --- an interview about Millie’s school life

group-work --- a discussion of students’ ideal school life

Step5. Summary

What have you learnt from this lesson?
