Teaching procedures
I. Warm-up and revision of phrases
Have a free talk.
What activities do you do every day?
Translate the phrases about everyday life.
Listen to a passage about Jim and choose the best answers.
II. Revision of grammar knowledge
Show some pictures and useful expressions. Encourage the students to make sentences with them. Then make a summary about the use of them.
Complete the sentences with the prepositions of time. Work in groups and summarize the use of them.
Revise the use of adverbs of frequency and then fill in the blanks with proper words.
III. Revision of language points
Show some language points on the screen and ask the students to summarize the use of them in groups.
Encourage some students to explain the use of them to their classmates in front of the class. Give them a helping hand if necessary.
Do some exercises about the language points.
Go through Unit 4 in the book and do some translation work.
IV. Practice and Production
Discuss what we like and dislike about our everyday lives.
Keep a diary about our everyday lives and ask some students to present their diaries to the whole class.
Assign homework and do consolidation exercises.

Hi, I'm Jim. On weekdays, I get up at 6:30. I have breakfast at 7:00 and then I go to school. I usually go to school by bus. I get to school at about 7:30 every day. I don't like to be late. Our classes begin at 8:00. We have Chinese, Maths and English lessons in the morning.
I have lunch at school with my classmates. After lunch, we often chat with each other or play games. In the afternoon, classes are over at 4:00 and I get home at about 4:30. But sometimes I don't leave school so early because I help do some cleaning. Then I get home at 5:00. I have dinner at 6:15.
In the evening, I do my homework. I often do some reading after it, but sometimes I watch TV. I go to bed at 10:00.
