2. Ask some of the students whether they have kept any pets and
how they kept them.
Step 2. Presentation
1. Ask the Ss to skim the passage to get some information about Amy’s pet.
2. Ask the Ss to read the passage carefully again and get more detailed information about Poppy.
Step 3 Discussion and Presentation
1. Ask the Ss to think about what makes a good article and encourage them to analyze the structure of the passage.
2. Help them analyze each part of this passage and find out some useful expressions when describing their favourite pets.
Step 4. Practice
Ask the Ss to finish the fact sheet first.
Ask the Ss to write about their own favourite pets.
Step5. Presentation
Invite some of the Ss to present their articles in front of the whole class and give suitable comments.
Help the Ss to learn to evaluate their passages.
Remind the Ss that pets are animals and they are our friends and that we should love them.
