T: We have learnt a lot about pets in this unit. Today you’ll write an article about your favourite pet. Some of you keep a pet at home.

Now, I’ll show you something about Amy’s pet—Poppy.
Activitity1 Before writing
1.First, show two pictures about Poppy to the students.
2.Second, ask some questions.
3.Listen to the tape and read
4.Show some questions to the students. Give students some minutes to discuss these questions.
5.Ask students to answer the questions.
6. Group work
Give students some minutes to read the article again and then finish the form in groups.7. Work out the structure in pairs.
8. Find out the useful expressions in groups.
9.Discussion
Let students discuss how to look after pets well.

Show a picture about a parrot and tell them something about it.
