1. T: My friend also has a pet. What’s it? What colour is it? What do you think of it?
Ss: It’s a parrot. It’s yellow, red and green. It’s colourful. It’s a colourful bird. I think it’s very beautiful. It’s a beautiful parrot.
T: What other adjectives can we use to describe pets?
(lovely, lazy, beautiful )
2. Let the Ss make sentences using these words to describe their pets.
Eg. (1) My rabbit is lovely./ It is a lovely rabbit.
(2) My mouse is lazy./ It is a lazy mouse.
(3) My parrot is beautiful./ It is a beautiful parrot.
T: Where do we put an adjective ?
Ss: We put an adjective before a noun or after a linking verb.
3. Let the students finish Part A1: Help Daniel make sentences with the words provided. Ask the students to find the adjectives in the sentences.
4. Tell the students: Daniel found two passages about pets on the website. Complete the sent ences with the adjectives in the box.

1. Teacher communicates with the students about pets.
T: We know pets are our good friends. They can make us happy. Does anybody/ anyone in our class have a pet? Oh, I’d glad to know that somebody/ someone in our class has a pet.
Write “ anybo dy, anyone, somebody, someone” on the blackboard.
2. Arrange a student to stand outside the classroom and close the door.
T: Is everybody/ everyone here now?
Ss: No
T: You’re right. Th ere’s someone standing outside the classroom.
Point to the seat.
T: Is there anyone sitting on the s eat?
Ss : No, there isn’t anybody sitting on the seat. There’s nobody/ no one sitting on the seat.
Write “ everybody, everyone, nobody, no one” on the blackboard.
3. Let the student go back to t he seat from outside.
T: Is there anybody standing outside the classroom now?

1. Write other indefinite pronouns on the blackboard: something, anything, nothing, everything.
T: Today we’ll learn two kinds of indefinite pronouns. One kind is used to refer to people, such as “someone, anyone, no one”. The other kind is used to refer to things, such as “ something, anything and nothing”.
