Step 1 . Lead-in
Show a picture of a goldfish and ask: Would you like to have a goldfish as your pet?
Give the students some sentences and let them discuss:
Can you put a goldfish in the sun?
Is a goldfish heavy?
Does a goldfish weight several kilograms?
Is the body of a goldfish like a banana or an egg?
Does it need clean water?
Can you take it out of the water?
Does it need special fish food?
Is it very difficult to look after a goldfish?
Is a goldfish very expensive?
Step 2 . Practice
Show the picture again and say:
It is a special goldfish. Look, it has long and beautiful fins. Its tail looks like a fan. So we call it fantail goldfish. Now , please listen to a talk on the fantail goldfish and help Peter check his notes.
Finish the exercises on Page 99, and then check the answers.
Step 3. Presentation
Ask students to finish Part A3 on Page 100, and then check the answers.
Read it in pairs.
Step 4. Presentation
Play the tape of Page 100 Part B with books closed.
Ask students to repeat after the tape.
Act it out.
