The differences between “It is adj. for sb. to do sth.” and “It is adj. of sb. to do sth.”, and differnt kinds of adjectives used in these sentences.

2. Aims on ability

Train students’ ability of listening, speaking, reading, writing and co-operation.

Make the students study while playing.

Get them to know that a language is a key to a wider world.

VIII. Teaching Procedure

1. Pre-task

Task 1: Review

1) Some pictures: there are some short conversations and sentences below the pictures for students to review the usages of “it” and “to do”.

This step makes students clear to the knowledge in this lesson.

2) A sentence pattern in a situation: I give the students a situation in which they can say a sentence “It takes Tom an hour to get to school” to connect “it” with “to do”. Next I choose one student to translate the sentence and then the students should analyze the sentence structure.

This step can help students understand the new knowledge well with something related to it.

Task 2: Leading in

Another picture is shown. It is about Peppa Pig’s mother, Mummy Pig, driving a car too fast. Then it elicits two sentences in the sentence patterns “It is adj. of/for sb. to do sth.”

Peppa Pig is a very famous cartoon, so the students must be very interested in learning the sentences in this way. When they see the picture, they will feel like knowing what will happen next.
