Step1: Enjoy a song: Do you have a pet?
Step2:Warming-up: Do you like animals? What animals do you know?
Step3: Presentation Part A
1.Show some pictures about some animals such as a parrot, a goldfish, a mouse, a rabbit and a dog. Communicate with Ss: What’s this? Do you like it? Why or why not? Write?parrot??goldfish??mouse?on the Bb at the same time.
2 Ask Ss to practice in pairs. Make sure they can pronounce them and understand their Chinese meanings.
3.Explain PartA and ask Ss to look at the parts of the pictures and write the names of the animals under them.

1.Ask Ss to complete Part B and read the sentences one by one.

For example: I like rabbits. I think they’re lovely. I can feed them carrots. Encourage Ss to speak to stimulate interest in learning.

Step7: Presentation Comic
1. Say:Eddie also has a pet. Do you know who it is? Yes, it’s Hobo. Listen to their conversation and answer the following question: Is Hobo a good pet? Play the tape. Ss listen and answer.
2. Ask Ss to watch a video. Answer more questions
(1)What does Eddie want Hobo to do?
(2) Is Hobo happy? Why?
(5) Does Eddie like his pet? What does he want?
3 .Play the tape again. Ss repeat.
4. Practice reading together. Then divide the class into two parts to role-play. Pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.
