Step 2 Presentation
1.T: These words on the blackboard are called adjectives. Please look at the pictures and the sentences. Can you tell me the use of adjectives in them?
Show a picture of a rabbit and a picture of a sleeping cat.
Rabbits have long ears.
Rabbits’ ears are long.
A lazy cat is sleeping on the sofa.
The cat on the sofa is lazy.
2.Ss find out that adjectives are used to describe people or things and are used before nouns or after linking verbs?
T: Can you think of any linking verbs we’ve learnt before?
Show Ss some of the linking verbs which are often used.
3.SS make different sentences using adjectives to express the same meaning.
E.g. I have long hair.
My hair is long.

1.Ss do Part A1 on P97. Rearrange the words to form complete sentences.
2.Check the answers.

1.The teacher goes on communicating with the students about the pets and write down the words ‘anybody,anyone,somebody,someone’on the blackboard.
T:We know pets are our good friends.They can make us happy.Does anybody/anyone in our class have a pet?Oh,I am glad to know that somebody/someone in our class has a pet.
2.Ask a student to stand outside the classroom , close the door and ask the other students.
T:Is everybody here now?
