Step 1 Lead-in Read my weekend activity

Show the students what I did last weekend.

The students read the passage and find the past forms of verbs in it.

How to form the past forms of the verbs.

How to form the regular verbs and the pronunciation “-ed”

Irregular verbs Page106&107

Give the students two minutes to remember the irregular verbs as many as possible.

Play a game “lucky turning”

Ask the students to form more past forms of verbs and read together.

More examples of the verbs and ask the students to say the past forms out.

Step 2 Revision

1. Show some pictures of activities that often do and did yesterday/last Sunday/last weekend.

Let the students learn about when to use the simple past tense again and give more adverbials of time and write them on the blackboard.

2. Change the sentences into the simple past tense.

More exercises about the simple past tense.

1). I _______ (be) born in 2000.

2). We ________ (take) a lot of photos last month.

3). Tom ______ (put) the books in the bag and left the classroom.

4). I _______ (see) a UFO in the sky last night.

5). We _______ (be) at home yesterday.

8). She _________ (buy) a book the day before yesterday.

9). Our classmates _________ (visit) Sunshine Park last weekend.

10). He ______ in Shanghai three years ago, but now he ______ in Beijing. (live)

Step 3 Presentation

Show some pictures of Alice in Wonderland and talk about Alice (be).

More examples about the positive and negative “be”.

1). Mary ________(be) at home yesterday. She ________(be not) at school .

2). The boy (be) in the library now. But he (be) in the classroom just now, because he had an Chinese lesson.
