Grade 8 students have been learning about the reading skills. They’re quite familiar with some reading skills such as scanning and skimming, but they aren’t sure how to find out the topic sentence and get the main idea of the passage correctly. Besides that, they’ve just learnt about some key sentences structures on an argumentation in this unit, but they don’t know what they are and how they can organize all the materials together to write an argumentation. Considering this situation, all the exercises should be designed to be as easy as possible. And enough input and guidance are needed and necessary.
