Review some outdoor acitivities in this unit(jogging; swimming; skating; camping; cycling; riding)
Q: What outdoor activity do you like best? Why?
Show a picture of flying kites and ask:Do you like flying kites?
Show some different shapes(形状) of kites and ask: What do they look like?(bird;
dragon; plane; fish; horse; square)
Step II Presentation & listening
Today, Mr Wu is asking his students about their kites:
Ask: What do the four kites look like?(bird; plane; fish; square)
Listen to their conversation and write the students’ names under their kites in Part
A1, on Page 75.(Millie; Simon; Amy; Daniel)
Show a picture of Shangdong province and ask: Which city is famous for kites in
China? (Weifang, a city in Shandong Province)
Present the pictures and ask: What can we use to make kites?
= What can we make kites out of? (paper, bamboo, wood)
Now kite flying is a very popular activity around the world. Do you want to know the
history of kites?
Show four famous people about kites in history and talk about their names(Mozi;
Lu Ban; Cai Lun; Marco Polo)
Ask: What did they do for kites? Listen to the tape and try to match them with their
correct enents in Part A2, on Page 75.
Learn more about the four famous people.
Do a memory test to talk about them according to the key words.
Listen to the recording again and finish Part A3.
Read Part A3, and learn some new words and phrases in it.
Step III Present Speak up
