Step 1. Lead- in

Have a free talk about the weather

T: What a bright sunny day! It’s a good time to do some outdoor activities, right?

Peppa and her family go to the park.

What are they going to do?

Start the topic by enjoying a video <>

Talk about different shapes of kites.

Step2. Listening

Listen to the recording and try to write correct names under the kites.

Ask some questions to check the answers.

Step 3. Presentation & Listening

Present the pictures and ask:

Do you know his names? Listen and answer some questions.

Who is famous for making things out of wood and bamboo?

Guess .

Look at a kite made of paper.

Who found a new way to make paper ?

Where did Marco Polo come from?

Listen and match each person with the correct event.

Tell students to describe the people and the events.

Fill in the blanks in Part A3 as many as possible with the information in Part A2.

Listen to the recording again and finish Part A3.

Retell the history of kites according to the timeline.

Step4. Speak up

Lead-in

T: Kite flying is a good outdoor activity. Many people like it. What about going for a picnic?

Amy and her cousin Shirley are going for a picnic. They are very excited.

Listen to their conversation and fill in the table.
