Show some pictures of Superman and Spiderman to the Ss and ask:
Who is he?
What can he do? /
What abilities does Superman/Spiderman have?
Do you want to fly like him?
Part 2. Presentation
Present pictures of comic strip and ask Ss:
Who is he?
What does he think he can do?
Do you believe him?
Play the tape and make Ss answer questions related to the content.
Ask Ss to read the comic strip after the tape and choose some of them to act it out.
Part 3. Brain-storming
1. Prepare some questions for Ss to answer:
Would you like to help others (teachers/friends/family members)?
What can you do for others (teachers/friends/family members)?
Part 4. Presentation
Present the pictures of Part A and discuss them with Ss. Ask Ss questions about what they get from these pictures.
Part 5. Drills
Ss read information given in Part A and finish exercise.
Do C-E translations according to the content of six pictures.
Part6 Presentation
Play the tape of Part B and ask some questions related to it.
Who’ll they help?
What’ll they do for the children?
Ss read Part B after the tape together.
Part7 Pair-work
Ss use the conversation in Part B as a model and talk about what they can do in Helping Hands Club.
Encourage several volunteers to act out the dialogue in class.
