Learn and summarize the usage and formation of he comparative and superlative of adverbs.
Use the comparative and superlative of adverbs to compare how something happens or is done by comparing Happy’s shop’s current status with its previous status and by finishing the oral report of the comparison of three pet shops through group work and give proper suggestions.

The analysis of students
The students in this class are of average level. They have already known some basic usages of adverbs and their comparatives and superlatives. However, they haven’t had a systematic and thorough understanding of the rules. So the focus of this lesson should be help them summarize the rules and practise the rules. Also, since less than half of them are willing to express their opinions in class, pair work and group work are adopted to ease their tension by working with partners. What’s more, they are encouraged to compete with the other groups. In this way, their will be more likely to express their ideas.
Teaching approaches and learning strategy
In order to help students participate in class activities actively, situational?teaching?approach, communicative approach, task-based approach, multimedia approach will be adopted in this class.
Students will adopt cognitive learning strategy to summarize the grammatical rules mentioned in this class and understand the main idea and detail information of passages assigned by the teacher. Communicative learning strategy will also be applied in this class.
