Step 1: lead-in
Music & game
Listen to an English song and fill in the missing words.
Lead in the topic--home/hometown.

Step 2: while writing
Watch John’s video about his hometown and answer the following question.
Is his hometown a good place to live? Why?
Para 2-- John’s house
Read and answer:
Where?
How many floors?
What’s around his house?
What can he do?
Para 3-- John’s hometown
Q & A:
What do the families do?
How does he do some shopping?
Tell students that para 2 and para 3 are the main body of the article. Show some useful expressions to them and ask them to write the main body of their own article. Later pick up two students to show their works.

Para 4--John’s feeling and hope
Show some examples about how to begin and how to end the article. Ask students to finish the article about their hometown. After that, choose one student to share his/hers with others.
